Matthew Magro rebbieħ tal-unur tal-Atlas Żagħżugħ tax-xahar għal Ġunju

It-Tenpin bowler Matthew Magro rebaħ l-unur tal-‘Atlas Youth Athlete of the month’ għax-xahar ta’ Ġunju 2020. Magro intgħażel bħala r-rebbieħ ta’ dan l-unur wara r-riżultati eċċezzjonali li kellu tul ix-xahar ta’ Ġunju fejn fost oħrajn irreġistra riżultati impressjonanti li rawh uffiċjalment isir l-iżgħar Tenpin bowler Malti li qatt għamel il-‘perfect game’. Magro beda dan l-isport fl-eta’ ta’ tmien snin u baqa’ jittrenja bis-serjeta’ tant li llum il-ġurnata hu wieħed mill-aqwa players fix-xena tat-Tenpin blowling fi ħdan il-Malta Tenpin Bowling Association. Wara xejn inqas minn tliet xhur ‘il bogħod  mil-lanes,  Magro rritorna bil-kbir hekk kif fit-‘3 game’ tal-MTBA Cisk Lager Doubles League hu għamel punteġġ ta’ 756 series li kien jinkludi wkoll skor ta’ 300 jiġifieri ‘perfect game’ fl-ewwel ġimgħa tal-kompetizzjoni. F’din il-kompetizzjoni Magro kien qed jilgħab f’team mal-player veterena, l-leġġenda Sue Abela. Matthew Magro wins the June ‘Atlas Youth Athlete of the month’ award

Tenpin bowler Matthew Magro was named the ‘Atlas Youth Athlete of the month’ for the month of June 2020. Magro won this award following his recent impressive results which saw him officially becoming the youngest ever Maltese tenpin bowler to roll a perfect game. Magro started to play tenpin bowling when he was eight years old and has since then continued to train to improve his technique to become one of the most promising youth players within the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association. After three long months away from the bowling lanes, Magro came back with a huge bang in June after his 3 game series at the MTBA Cisk Doubles League tailed to a 756 series including a 300 perfect game in the first week of the competition. L-ewwel President Mara għall-Istitut tal-Ġurnalisti Maltin

L-Istitut tal-Ġurnalisti Maltin għandu l-ewwel mara bħala President tiegħu filwaqt li kienu assenjati rwoli lil kull wieħed mill-membri tal-Kunsill li jiffukkaw fuq aspetti u setturi differenti tal-qasam tal-media. Sylvana Debono, ġurnalista veterana li hi l-Kap Editorjali tal-Beacon Media Group li jiġbor fih in-Newsbook kif ukoll l-istazzjon tar-Radju 103FM, hi l-President tal-Kunsill. F’kumment qasir li għamlet wara din il-ħatra, Sylvana Debono rringrazzjat lill-President preċedenti Yannick Pace għall-ħidma tiegħu kif ukoll lill-kunsilli preċedenti tal-Istitut li poġġew pedamenti sodi għall-kisbiet future fil-qasam lokali tal-ġurnaliżmu.. Institute of Maltese Journalists Will Have Its First Female President

The Institute of Maltese Journalists introduced a series of firsts during a meeting of the new executive council, nominating its first-ever female president and council members receiving their own designations to spearhead the IGM’s mission for the next few years. During a meeting held yesterday, Sylvana Debono, a veteran journalist who heads the editorial team at Beacon Media group which incorporates both Newsbook.com.mt as well as 103FM, was chosen to be the IGM’s president. She thanked the outgoing President Yannick Pace for his work as well as the preceding council for laying solid foundations for future achievements. “This is a great team, and we all bring different skills to the table. We should be able to be of service to our profession and raise standards even higher,” said Sylvana Debono.
