Daikin Qormi picked up where they left off last season by the taking the Super Cup, the hockey seasons first honour. The reigning Champions and KO Winners emphatically saw off the challenge of perennial rivals Sliema Hotsticks by four goals to nil. The difference between the sides was simple enough. Qormi took their chances while Sliema Hotsticks did not. The first quarter started quietly as both sides got the rustiness out of their system following the summer break. The game sprang into life in the final five minutes of the quarter as Qormi goalkeeper effected a fine double save to thwart Sliema. Daikin Qormi took the ball up the other end and from the rebound off a short corner move Luke Bajada put them into the lead. The second quarter went by with little of note although once again Mifsud denied Sliema a goal.  The third quarter was a lively [...]

Daikin Qormi komplew minn fejn ħalew l-istaġun li għadda billi ħadu s-Super Cup, l-ewwel unur tal-istaġun tal-hockey. Iċ-ċampjins renjanti u r-rebbieħa tal-KO b'mod enfatiku xejnu l-isfida tar-rivali Sliema Hotsticks b'erba' gowls għal xejn. Id-differenza bejn it-timijiet kienet sempliċi biżżejjed. Qormi ħadu l-opportunitajiet tagħhom waqt li Sliema Hotsticks ma ħaduhomx. L-ewwel kwarta bdiet bil-kwiet hekk kif iż-żewġ naħat ħadmu biex joħorġu is-sadid mis-sistema tagħhom wara l-waqfa tas-sajf. Il-logħba qamet fl-aħħar ħames minuti tal-kwarta hekk kif il-gowlkeeper ta' Qormi għamel save doppu biex salva r-riżultat. Daikin Qormi tellgħu l-ballun in-naħa l-oħor u mir-rebound ta’ short corner Luke Bajada tefagħhom fil-vantaġġ. It-tieni kwarta għaddiet bi ftit ażżjonijiet denji ta’nota għalkemm għal darb’oħra Mifsud ċaħdu gowl lis-Sliema. It-tielet kwarta kienet vivaċi u bdiet b'Shaun Dimech u Luke Bajada ta’ Qormi li ma rnexxielhomx jegħlbu lil Ludwig Cole fil-lasta ta’ Sliema wara zball fid-difiża ta' Sliema. Wara kien imiss lil Sliema biex ifallu sitwazzjoni favorevoli [...]
