Belgium (Flanders): Freelancers can rely on both existing and new measures depending on the situation of the freelancer. When the freelancer’s got ill, he or she’s granted a daily amount from day one as soon as he or she is ill for a period of 7 days (measure from 2019). L-IĠM jappella lill-Gvern biex jassigura l-ħarsien tal-ħaddiema kollha fil-qasam tal-ġurnaliżmu

By |March 27th, 2020|0 Comments

L-IĠM jappella lill-Gvern biex jassigura li l-ħaddiema kollha fil-qasam tal-ġurnaliżmu, inkluż il-freelancers, igawdu mill-miżuri finanzjarji u biex il-ġurnaliżmu jkun protett. Meta l-parti l-kbira tal-postijiet tax-xogħol huma magħluqa minħabba x-“shutdown parzjali”, ordnat mill-awtoritajiet tas-saħħa, r-reklamar fil-gazzetti u l-mezzi tax-xandir qed jonqos b’mod drastiku. Barra minn dan, minħabba li ħafna nies qed jobdu l-ordnijiet u rrakkomandazzjonijiet u jibqgħu d-dar, anke l-bejgħ tal-ġurnali naqas. Dan se jfisser nuqqas ta’ dħul għal media houses li jimpjegaw magħhom ġurnalisti u għalhekk l-impjieg jew id-dħul tal-ġurnalisti tagħna jinsab fil-periklu. Fil-familja ġurnalistika, għandna numru ta’ ġurnalisti u fotografi/camerapersons li huma freelancers, jaħdmu għal rashom, li d-dħul tagħhom diġa’ naqas drastikament għax ix-xogħol tagħhom naqas billi per eżempju, bħalissa ma huma organizzati ebda attivitajiet sportivi, soċjali jew attivitajiet tal-massa li minnhom jiddependi ħafna mid-dħul ta’ dawn il-ġurnalisti. Xogħol il-ġurnalist hu wieħed essenzjali f’soċjetà demokratika. Mingħajr il-ħidma talġurnalisti, l-poplu ma jistax jinżamm infurmat dwar dak li qed iseħħ fil-pajjiż. [...]
