L-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports tħabbar ir-ritorn tat-turnament tradizzjonali ta’ Boxing Day

Wara nuqqas ta’ sentejn minħabba l-pandemija, l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports (GħĠS) flimkien mall-Malta Football Association (MFA), il-Malta Football Referees Association (MFRA) u l-Malta Football Coaches Association (MFCA), se jerġgħu jingħaqdu għat-turnament tradizzjonali ta’ Boxing Day, li kien ilu jsir għal diversi snin. Dan it-turnament kwadrangolari isir bejn it-timijiet tal-futbol magħmula minn ġurnalisti sportivi, kowċis, staff tal-MFA u referis. Dan it-turnament, se jiġi organizzat nhar it-Tnejn 26 ta’ Diċembru 2022, mit-8:30 a.m., fis-Centenary Stadium, f’Ta’ Qali.  L-E.T. il-President ta’ Malta George Vella se jkun qed jattendi għal din l-attività u se jagħti l-kick off tat-tieni sett ta’ logħbiet fl-10:00 a.m. Bħalma hija d-drawwa, se jinġabru donazzjonijiet minn dawk preżenti b’risq l-Istrina. Il-pubbliku in ġenerali huwa wkoll mistieden sabiex jattendi u jagħti d-donazzjoni tiegħu.

Nicholas Muscat wins the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for November

Nicholas Muscat has been awarded the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for the month of November 2022. Young bowler Nicholas Muscat, aged 17, won the U23 National Championships and his second personal U23 title. He also helped his team OKMalta.com to win the national league Division 1, for the seventh consecutive time. In September, Muscat made history as he became the first Maltese to ever make the final of the European Youth Championships (EYC) Masters event after winning two bronze medals individually (All Events) and alongside his national team-mates (Team Event). He earned a silver medal in the Boys’ Masters Event – arguably the most prestigious championship with the top 24 bowlers from the entire EYC. Nicholas Muscat jirbaħ l-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Novembru

Nicholas Muscat ingħata l-unur tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Novembru. Il-bowler żagħżugħ Nicholas Muscat, li għandu 17-il sena, rebaħ il-Kampjonat Nazzjonali ta’ taħt it-23 sena. Huwa wkoll għen lit-tim tiegħu OKMalta.com sabiex jirbaħ l-ewwel diviżjoni tal-kampjonati nazzjonali għas-seba’ darba konsekuttiva. F’Settembru, Muscat rebaħ żewġ midalji tal-bronż (waħda mat-tim tas-subien u u l-oħra fil-kategorija tal-“All Events”) u sar l-ewwel Malti li wasal fil-finali tal-European Youth Championships (EYC) fejn rebaħ il-midalja tal-fidda. Il-kategorija tal-Masters li kkonsistiet mill-aqwa 24 atleta fil-kampjonati,  hija meqjusa bħala l-iktar kampjonat prestiġjuż, peress li fiha l-aqwa bowlers mill-Ewropa kollha. It-trofew tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Novembru 2022 kif ukoll il-voucher ta’ abbiljament sportiv abbinat ma’ dan il-premju ġew ippreżentati lil Nicholas Muscat minn Robert Micallef, Chief Commercial Officer ta’ Atlas insurance. L-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports kienet irrappreżentata mill-President Sandro Micallef u l-Amministratur Stephen Azzopardi. Dan il-premju ta’ kull xahar jingħata b’inizjattiva konġunta tal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports u Atlas Insurance. [...]

The Malta Sports Journalists Association joined local sports journalist Joanna Camilleri as the latter filed a police report

The Malta Sports Journalists Association joined local sports journalist Joanna Camilleri as the latter filed a police report after various sexist and hate speech comments that were posted on the social media after one particular programme on the PBS channels about the World Cup 2022.   The Malta Sports Journalists Association got things done as president Sandro Micallef together with the Executive Committee issued a joint report as a sign of solidarity with Camilleri. “It is a shame that there are still people who try to ridicule other individuals and think that they are untouchables whilst writing on the social media. One hopes that this case serves as a lesson to all keyboard heroes,” said Micallef. The MSJA reiterated that at this stage is not going to comment about this case and is leaving the judicial process as it has complete trust in the police and the Maltese courts so [...]
