As communicated earlier, the Malta Sports Journalists Association and Atlas Insurance have officially launched the public voting for the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Year Award. The 11 young athletes that have claimed the monthly award during 2020 are now eligible to compete for the yearly award with a combined vote by the panel of journalists and the general public. Bħalma tħabbar dan l-aħħar, l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports flimkien ma’ Atlas Insurance għadhom kemm uffiċjalment neddew il-votazzjoni pubblika għall-Premju tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ/a tas-Sena. Il-ħdax-il atleta li rebħu l-premju ta’ kull xahar matul is-sena 2020 huma eliġibbli għal premju annwali b’votazzjoni ta’ panel ta’ ġurnalisti flimkien mal-pubbliku ġenerali. Maltese upcoming Gymnast Tara Vella Clark has been named the December 2020 winner of the Atlas Youth Athlete of the month award. This award was launched in January 2020 as a joint initiative between the Malta Sports Journalists Association and Atlas Insurance. Tara Vella Clark distinguished herself in the month of December after placing eighth in the Beam final at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Mersin, Turkey; an incredible feat for Maltese Gymnastics as she became the first Maltese athlete to ever manage to qualify to a final in a continental championship. During her qualifying routine, Vella Clark produced a sterling performance on the beam when she managed to secure an impressive score of 12.200 which placed her fourth in the provisional standings and secured for her a place in the final. Il-Ġinnasta promettenti Maltija Tara Vella Clark ġiet magħżula bħala r-rebbieħa tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħa tax-Xahar għal Diċembru 2020. Dan l-unur tnieda f’Jannar tas-sena l-oħra b’inizjattiva konġunta bejn l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports u Atlas Insurance. Tara Vella Clark spikkat fix-xahar ta’ Diċembru wara li temmet fit-tmien post fil-fażi finali tal-beam waqt il-Kampjonat Ewropew tal-Ġinnastika Artistika li sar f’Mersin fit-Turkija. B’dan ir-riżultat hi saret l-ewwel atleta Maltija li rnexxielha tikkwalifika għall-fażi finali ta’ kompetizzjoni dinjija f'dan l-Isport. Waqt ir-rutina tagħha, Vella Clark ipproduċiet prestazzjoni mill-aqwa fuq il-beam.
