Appoġġ mill-GħĠS lejn Antvin Monseigneur

L-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports tagħmel referenza għar-reazzjoni minn ċerti setturi u individwi wara kumment li għadda fuq Facebook il-ġurnalist membru Antvin Monseigneur b’rabta mat-tim nazzjonali ta’ Franza. Filwaqt li l-GħĠS hija konvinta li ma kien hemm ebda intenzjoni minn naħa tal-ġurnalist konċernat biex titfa’ dell ikrah fuq xi settur tas-soċjeta’, titlob li għandu jkun hemm maturita’ minn kull settur fejn filwaqt li ċertu kumment seta’ ġie evitat daqstant ieħor ħaddieħor m’għandux jara kif a skapitu ta’ kumment li jkun għamlu ġurnalist tinħloq storja u kummenti bil-għan biex titnaffar l-integrita’ tal-ġurnalist u tal-media tal-isport.

MEP Therese Comodini Cachia hosts Malta Sports Journalists Association delegation for a series of high level meetings in Brussels The fight against match-fixing and doping, the dual career of athletes and sports people and good governance in sports where the main topics discussed during a series of meetings held in Brussels for which a delegation from the Malta Sports Journalists Association attended. The event in Brussels was hosted by MEP Therese Comodini Cachia, member of the Culture and Education Committee (CULT) which is also responsible for Sport and Media. The priorities of the EU sport policy were discussed with Yves Le Lostecque, Head of Sports Unit at the European Commission and with the cabinet of Tibor Navracsics, the European Commissioner responsible for Sport. Stevie Camilleri presented with the MSJA Athlete of the Year Trophy

Malta’s waterpolo national team prolific scorer STEVIE CAMILLERI was officially presented with the Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports – Malta Sports Journalists’ Association trophy by President Charles Camenzuli. Stevie Camilleri who currently plays for Circolo Canottieri Ortigia Pallanuoto in the Italian Professional League earlier this year was Top Scorer with 21 goals during the European Waterpolo Finals held in Belgrade, Serbija. The presentation was held at the Neptunes Waterpolo Club and it results that the last waterpolo player chosen as ‘Athlete of the Year’ goes back to 1973 when the title was won by Michael Soler. Other waterpolo players who won the award were Alfred Griscti in 1965 and 1972, George Borg in 1967 and Bertie Portelli in 1969. […]
