TGS Malta Fair Play Award

Wara t-tnedija uffiċjali tal-Malta Fair Play Movement, l-iStanding Committee iffurmat minn Joe Borg Cardona, Kevin J Azzopardi, Pierre Cassar, Dr Adele Muscat u ċ-Ċermen Charles Camenzuli, ħabbru l-ewwel TGS Malta Fair Play Award b’mod konġunt mal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports u sponsorjat minn Together Gaming Solutions. Zurrieq FC Futsal ġew mogħtija l-ewwel premju għall-perjodu bejn Jannar u Marzu tas-sena 2021. Il-ġest altuwistiku min-naħa ta’ Zurrieq FC Futsal seħħ waqt logħba tal-kampjonat tal-futsal lokali fit-23 ta’ Jannar 2021 kontra St. George’s, wara li ħallew lill-avversarji jiskurjaw biex jikkompensaw għall-gowl li skorjaw waqt li plejer ta’ St. George’s kien imweġġa’ fil-court. Hemm ukoll vidjow fuq il-midja soċjali li jiddokumenta dan il-ġest. Il-premju ġie preżentat lill-Head Coach Alexei Saliba u l-Vice-Captain Luke Bugeja ta’ Zurrieq FC Futsal li kienu preżenti dakinhar li seħħ il-ġest altruwistiku. Mill-preżentazzjoni uffiċjali ta’ ‘Together Gaming Solutions Fair Play Award ’, il-Malta Fair Play Movement b’kollaborazzjoni mal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports se tkun responsabbli mill-evalwazzjoni ta’ applikazzjonijiet b’rabta mal-kunċett ta’ Fair Play li jkunu għaddew minnu assoċjazzjonijiet, uffiċjali talisport u/ jew atleti matul il-perijodu Jannar – Marzu 2021. Il-Malta Fair Play Movement tikkonsidra wkoll sitwazzjonijiet ta’ ‘Fair Play’ imressqa mill-pubbliku fejn dettalji tal-avveniment / kompetizzjoni flimkien ma tagħrif dwar l-atleti, timijiet jew uffiċjali involuti għandhom jingħataw. Ir-rikonoxximent għal ‘Fair Play’ huwa intiż għal dawk fil-qasam tal-isport kemm fuq livell individwali jew bħala tim għal mod atruwistiku f’kompetizzjoni/ijiet uffiċjali jew le. Following the official launch of the ‘Together Gaming Solutions Fair Play Award’, the Malta Fair Play Movement in co-operation with the Malta Sports Journalists Association will be evaluating applications relative to ‘Fair Play’ concept, which associations, sports officials and athletes might have experienced during the January – March 2021 period. The Malta Fair Play Movement will consider also Fair Play situations forwarded by the public where details of the event /completion as well as details of the athlete/s, team/s or official/s involved are to be indicated. This award is aimed for sporting individuals or teams who have distinguished themselves with an altruistic gesture of Fair Play during official and / or non-official competitions. The Malta Sports Journalists Association as Associate Member with the Malta Fair Play Movement has teamed up with ‘Together Gaming Solutions plc’ a Maltese company listed on the Malta Stock exchange to give recognition to the concept of Fair Play in Sport as well as to revive the Fair Play Award . The concept of the Fairplay Award and recognition in Malta dates back to the 1980’s when the late sports journalist Lewis Portelli had introduced and organized this award aimed for sporting individuals or teams who would have distinguished themselves with an altruistic gesture of Fairplay during official and non-official competitions. During a Press event to launch this initiative Charles Camenzuli, as Chairman of the Malta Fair Play Movement and Lorraine Cunningham General Secretary of the Malta Sports Journalists Association gave credit to the support given by Together Gaming Solutions for accepting to embark with them in this initiative [...]
