The Malta Sports Journalists Association as Associate Member with the Malta Fair Play Movement has teamed up with ‘Together Gaming Solutions plc’ a Maltese company listed on the Malta Stock exchange to give recognition to the concept of Fair Play in Sport as well as to revive the Fair Play Award .

The concept of the Fairplay Award and recognition in Malta dates back to the 1980’s when the late sports journalist Lewis Portelli had introduced and organized this award aimed for sporting individuals or teams who would have distinguished themselves with an altruistic gesture of Fairplay during official and non-official competitions.

During a Press event to launch this initiative Charles Camenzuli, as Chairman of the Malta Fair Play Movement and Lorraine Cunningham General Secretary of the Malta Sports Journalists Association gave credit to the support given by Together Gaming Solutions for accepting to embark with them in this initiative that will surely gather momentum and a lot of interest in due course with the local sporting community.

Details were given on the recently set Malta Fair Play Movement chaired by Charles Camenzuli, President of AIPS Europe and former Executive Committee member of the International Fair Play Committee and active member within the European Fair Play Movement. Experts in the local sport scene accepted to form part of the MSPM who together with the MSJA will be making assessment and evaluation of eventual fair play nominations.

Benjamin Delsinger, TGS Managing Director commented ‘It is a honour for us to be associated with the Malta Fair Play Movement and the Malta Sports Journalists Association and we look forward to enhance further our collaboration with the local sports media’
