GSSE 2023 Day 3 Another satisfactory day for the Maltese contingent with our fair share of medals including 3 Gold taking our total of Gold Medals to 12. Two Silver medals were added as well as 2 Bronze. We look forward to another positive day today with expectations of more medals. L-Eżekuttiv tal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports jibgħat il-kondoljanzi lill-familja Zammit Cutajar hekk kif dalgħodu tħabbret il-mewt ta' Paul Zammit Cutajar, fotografu professjonali li għal diversi snin ħadem fis-settur tal-isport lokali u anke internazzjonali. Zammit Cutajar ġej minn familja sportiva, fejn missieru Francis Xavier Zammit li kien atleta, f’Wembley Stadium kien ġarr il-bandiera ta' Malta fiċ-Ċerimonja tal-Ftuħ tal-Olimpjadi ta’ Londra fl-1948, quddiem l-uniku atleta Nesto Jacono. Paul Zammit Cutajar għamel diversi snin membru tal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports u ta kontribut vast lill-isport lokali bil-fotografija avantgarde tiegħu. Paul Zammit Cutajar fl-2014 kien ingħata l-unur tat-Trofew Sport u Arti tal-Kumitat Olimpiku Internazzjonali. Għal bosta snin fotografu uffiċjali tal-Kumitat Olimpiku Malti. Beda bħala fotografu tal-isport fl-2007 bil-partita Malta – Turkija f’Ta’ Qali. Minn hemm fl-2010 kien preżenti fil-Youth Olympic Games f’Singapore, l-Olimpijadi ta’ Londra fl-2012, kif wkoll il-Logħob tal-Pajjiżi ż-Żgħar fil-Lussemburgu fl-2013 u fl-2014 fil-Logħob tal-Commonwealth fi Glasgow. Stefan Cassar has been awarded the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for the month of April. He won this monthly award for the very first time after achieving a new National Record of 6:31.15 in the Under-18 2000m Steeplechase during the Athletics Malta Open Challenge 4. Cassar, who is 16 years old, has been practicing athletics for 11 years with La Salle Athletics Club. Apart from the Steeplechase he also enjoys long-distance running, such as 10km, which requires different skills and abilities from running shorter distances. The trophy for the April 2023 Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month together with the sports apparel voucher were presented to Stefan Cassar by Matthew von Brockdorff Managing Director & CEO at Atlas Insurance. The Malta Sports Journalists Association was represented by Executive Committee Member Domenic Aquilina.
