Report Henry Brincat, Photos Christine Borg Keir Radnedge, chairman of the Football Commission of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), was the main speaker at a seminar organised by the Ghaqda Gurnalisti Sports (Malta Sports Journalists Association) on Friday evening. Radnedge spoke mainly about the problems which FIFA has been facing since it was founded on 21 May 1904 in Paris. The first delegates were from Belgium, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The founders created the first FIFA statutes, unifying the laws of the game to make it fair and clear to all players setting the foundation for all future football development. Radnedge said that over the years FIFA has expanded so much that now it has 209 members. Five Malta Sports Journalists Association members have successfully undertaken a three day Job Shadowing experience in the Sky Sports 24 newsroom in Milan, Italy. The opportunity was offered by the Executive Committee of the MSJA in an effort to expose more local sports journalists to the international scenario. Commenting on this experience Sandro Micallef General Secretary of the MSJA who was leading the Maltese group said: “This was simply an unforgettable experience, we had the opportunity to meet in person Sky Sport Italia’s familiar faces, colleagues with whom we exchanged experiences”. Letter of protest sent to Malta Football Association for doors shut on journalists

The Malta Sports Journalists Association has sent an official letter to the General Secretary of the Malta Football Association where a protest was lodged following the unfortunate incident on Monday 12th October were Maltese and Croat journalists were not allowed in for the Malta National Coach Press conference after having arrived on location few minutes late. The letter urges the Malta Football Association to investigate the matter so that such situations are handled better by its officials and by UEFA personnel on duty. […]
