Il-plejer Maltija ta’ 16 –il sena  kienet rebet dan l-unur fix-xhar ta' Ottubru 2020 iżda minħabba l-impenji tagħha fl-Italja fis-Serie A Femminile ma kinitx f'Malta. The Hockey Association Malta’s first competition came to an end on Sunday with an exhilarating final between GREE Sliema Hs and Qormi DAIKIN. GREE Sliema finally emerged winners in a game decided by a penalty shoot-out. The game, tough but sportingly played, was a testament to the validity of both sides and brought the curtain down on a remarkable run of ten consecutive competitions won by Qormi Daikin. The last time they did not win a competition dates back to the Super Cup Season 2017/2018. Truly an amazing feat. On Sunday GREE Sliema started on the front foot but it was Qormi Daikin who drew first blood from their first short corner as Steve Portelli fired in an unstoppable flick. Young Weightlifter Tenishia Thornton has been awarded with the Atlas Youth Athlete of the month Award for November 2020. This was the second time that the 15 year old athlete managed to win this award after she had claimed the March 2020 accolade. Thornton in November added a piece of history for Maltese Weightlifting as she became the first Maltese Athlete to win world medals in an IWF event. The Maltese weightlifter competed in the 49kg category where she finished with claiming a silver medal in the snatch category with a lift of 71kg and an overall bronze medal in the final classification after she had lifted an 84kg lift in the clean and jerk. Due to the Covid-19 situation the Youth World Cup of Weightlifting was held online with the participation of 17 athletes.
