The Malta Fair Play Movement announced the second TGS Malta Fair Play Award in conjunction with the Malta Sports Journalists Association and sponsored by Together Gaming Solutions.

Local Paralympic athlete Antonio Flores has been awarded this second award covering the April-June 2021 period.

After years of intensive training, Antonio Flores was bound to be part of the athletes’ contingent for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. It resulted that he had suffered an injury, which if not recovered in time, would mean that the place for athletics would remain vacant with no Malta participation.

However, in view of the situation, Antonio Flores took the tough decision to forfeit his Tokyo 2020 participation, in order that another athlete could be registered in time. Eventually, Thomas Borg will represent Malta in athletics instead of Flores.

“We strongly agree with the selection of Local Paralympic athlete Antonio Flores as winner of the second TGS Malta Fair Play Award and truly appreciate his gesture of sportsmanship. Through his act of fair play, he sets a great example for other athletes and deserves all recognition and praise.”  Benjamin Delsinger Managing Director of Together Gaming Solutions.

The presentation of the TGS Malta Fair Play Award was held on Monday 16th August 2021 at 2pm and hosted by Andrea Critien from the Finance & HR Department and Benjamin Delsinger Managing Director, at Together Gaming Solutions’ office in St. Julian’s.

The Malta Sports Journalists Association was represented by President Sandro Micallef, General Secretary Lorraine Cunningham and member Josef Galdes.
