Five Malta Sports Journalists Association members have successfully undertaken a three day Job Shadowing experience in the Sky Sports 24 newsroom in Milan, Italy. The opportunity was offered by the Executive Committee of the MSJA in an effort to expose more local sports journalists to the international scenario. Commenting on this experience Sandro Micallef General Secretary of the MSJA who was leading the Maltese group said: “This was simply an unforgettable experience, we had the opportunity to meet in person Sky Sport Italia’s familiar faces, colleagues with whom we exchanged experiences”. Letter of protest sent to Malta Football Association for doors shut on journalists

The Malta Sports Journalists Association has sent an official letter to the General Secretary of the Malta Football Association where a protest was lodged following the unfortunate incident on Monday 12th October were Maltese and Croat journalists were not allowed in for the Malta National Coach Press conference after having arrived on location few minutes late. The letter urges the Malta Football Association to investigate the matter so that such situations are handled better by its officials and by UEFA personnel on duty. […]

MSJA organises trip for Malta National team away match vs Italy

A group of 18 Sports journalists members of the MSJA – Malta Sports Journalists Association has traveled together in an organised trip to Florence to follow the European Qualifiers match Italy v Malta which was played in the Artemio Franchi Stadium on 3rd September 2015. This was the very first time that a record number of Maltese Sports media traveled together to follow an away match of the Malta National Football Team. The Malta National Football team is usually followed on a regular basis for away trips by local Newspaper The Times and local National TV broadcaster Television Malta. In the 1990’s local based cigarette company Central Cigarettes used to sponsor and subsidize such trips for Maltese sports journalists. […]

Journalists presented with appointment letters for Milan Job Shadowing

The President of the Malta Sports Journalists Association Mr Charles Camenzuli has officially presented the appointment letters to the four Maltese sports journalists members of the MSJA who will attend the four day Job Shadowing at Sky Sport Italia in Milan in October 2015. The Journalists who successfully made it were Gianluca Lia, Robert Busuttil, Matthew Mamo and Nigel Mifsud. These were summoned for a briefing before their experience. They were addressed by the President and General Secretary of MSJA Charles Camenzuli and Sandro Micallef respectively. MSJA Treasurer Antoine Dalli was also in attendance. […]
