As part of the meetings held by the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) with various sports associations and federations, the Assocation’s Executive Commitee was glad to meet the Malta Sport Shooting Federation (MSSF), which was represented by its President Frans Pace and PRO Robert Farrugia. During this meeting, both parties had the opportunity to discuss matters related to the work carried out by the journalists and how the latter can help MSSF improve their exposure in the local media. In this same meeting, MSSF mentioned the upcoming events that they have both locally and internationally. This was the last of a series of meetings with various sports associations and federations for this year, as MSJA is now preparing for the Annual General Meeting, set to take place on the 19th of September. Tkompli s-sensiela ta' laqgħat illi l-Eżekuttiv tal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sport qed jagħmel f’dawn l-aħħar xhur mal-assoċjazzjonijiet u federazzjonijet sportivi lokali. Fl-aħħar jiem il-Kumitat Eżekuttiv tal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sport iltaqa' mal-uffiċjali tal-Assoċjazzjoni Maltija tal-Isport tal-Isparar (Malta Sport Shooting Federation) li kienu rappreżentati mill-President tagħhom Frans Pace u mill-PRO Robert Farrugia. Fil-laqgħa ġew diskussi diversi materji relatati mal-ħidma kemm tal-ġurnalisti kif ukoll dwar il-ħsieb kif l-Assoċjazzjoni Maltija tal-Isport tal-Isparar tista’ tkun iktar megħjuna mil-lat ta' rappurtaġġ mill-media lokali. Fil-laqgħa ġew diskussi wkoll il-proġetti u l-attivitajiet kemm lokali u anki internazzjonali li bi ħsiebha torganizza l-Malta Sport Shooting Federation fix-xhur illi ġejjin. Din il-laqgħa kienet l-aħħar waħda għal din is-sena f’din is-sensiela ta’ laqgħat mal-federazzjonijiet u assoċjazzjonijiet sportivi lokali, hekk kif issa l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sport se tkun qed torganizza l-Laqgħa Ġenerali Annwali tagħha li hi skedata fid-19 ta' Settembru. Anthony Borg (Swimming) and Alex Degabriele (Tennis) are the winners of the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for July. Anthony Borg, aged 17, accomplished an amazing feat themed Swim Round Gozo swimming 37 kilometres just under 12 hours. Anthony is the youngest swimmer ever to compete this long-distance swim. Meanwhile, Alex Degabriele, aged 20, won the International Tennis Federation (ITF) 15K Doubles title on the Men’s Pro Circuit in Monastir, Tunisia teaming up with Youness Lalami Laaroussi from Morocco. Alex and Youness had a fantastic week of tennis overcoming many tough high ranked opponents and showing a huge resilience to eventually clinch this prestigious title. Alex was touring the ITF Pro Circuit during his season break from the North Carolina Wilmington University. in the USA.
