Neil Incorvaja (Table Tennis) and Malta’s Men U19 Water Polo Team are the winners of the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for March.

Neil Incorvaja, aged 14, is the Under 15 Individual Champion and winner of the Under 15 and Under 19 Doubles Championships, along with Matthew Zammit and Anthea Cutajar, respectively. The Junior National Championships were organised between the 18th and 25th March at the University of Malta Sports Pavilion.

Meanwhile, Malta’s Men U19 Water Polo Team qualified for the European U19 Championships, which will be held in Burgas, Bulgaria, next September. The Maltese youths won the qualifying group after winning all games against Slovakia 15-7, Poland 11-4, and Bulgaria 16-10.

Neil Incorvaja and  Malta’s Men U19 Water Polo Team were officially presented with the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award by Robert Micallef, Chief Commercial Officer. The Malta Sports Journalists Association was represented by its Administrator, Stephen Azzopardi.

This award is a joint initiative of the Malta Sports Journalists Association and Atlas Insurance. The adjudicating panel of this award takes note of all the youths’ national and international achievements of the month under review, and at the same time, it invites local sport associations and federations to send in their nominations for consideration if they feel that any of their under-21 athletes have distinguished themselves during that month. All the monthly winners are eligible for the annual award.
