Weightlifter Rylee Borg is the November winner of the Atlas Youth Athletes of the Month Award for the Local category, following an outstanding performance during the National Championships, where he won the Under 20 category and set three national records. Borg’s latest success continues a strong season, which also saw him finish fourth in the European Junior Championships in the 88 kg category, held in Albania.
Debutants triumph on Boxing Day as €1,500 raised for Istrina
The traditional Boxing Day football tournament organised by the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) raised €1,500 in aid of l-Istrina. This year’s edition was held at the Victor Tedesco Stadium and featured the newly formed TEAMmt, made up of TV and media personalities who emerged as overall winners, defeating all their opponents.

As the year draws to a close, the Executive Committee of the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) has announced that the nominations process for the 2026 edition of the Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali is now officially open.
