The Executive Committee of the Malta Sports Journalists Association reminds all Sports Associations and Federations that nominations for the Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali 2025 will close on Monday, 5 January 2026 at noon, with the awards ceremony scheduled to take place on Saturday 28 February 2026.
Late nominations or submissions that are not compliant with the regulations, including the submission of more than one nomination in the same category, will be considered invalid and will not be accepted. Each nomination must include a brief description of the achievements attained during 2025. The evaluation period for achievements runs from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025.
Sports Associations and Federations are invited to make nominations in the established categories, namely Sportsman of the Year,Sportswoman of the Year Sportswoman of the Year, Young Sportsman of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, Young Sportswoman of the Year, Coach of the Year, Official of the Year, and Team of the Year.
Nominations are also being accepted for the People’s Choice Award, which will be decided by the public through SMS voting on numbers that will be announced at a later stage. Nominations for the Sport for Social Change Award are also open. These honours are also complemented by the International event of the Year Award.
Once again this year, the Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali will be organised by the Malta Sports Journalists Association.

The 66th edition of the Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali is being organised with the support of the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, SWEAT Fitness, Together Gaming Solutions, Bank of Valletta, Enemed, Wasteserv, Malta Tourism Authority, Vassallo Group, InterContinental Hotel, Atlas Insurance, AIMS, 1Padel, and Bolt.The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on TVM Sport+.
