Malta Sports Journalists Association announces the return of the Boxing Day Tournament

After an absence of two years due to the pandemic, the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) together with the Malta Football Association (MFA), the Malta Football Referees Association (MFRA) and the Malta Football Coaches Association (MFCA), will join for the traditional boxing day football tournament, which has been organised for several years. This tournament traditionally sees football teams made up of sports journalists, coaches, referees, and MFA staff battling it out for a good cause.

The Boxing Day Football Tournament will be held on Monday 26th December 2022, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Centenary Stadium, Ta’ Qali. H.E. President of Malta George Vella will be attending and will kick off the second set of matches at 10:00 a.m.

As is customary, tournament participants will pool their funds in a collective donation for the national fund-raising activity Istrina. The general public is welcome to attend and contribute with a donation along with the participants.
