Dillon Cassar receives fourth TGS Malta Fair Play Award for the year 2022

The Malta Fair Play Movement has announced the eighth TGS Malta Fair Play Award, in collaboration with Malta Sports Journalists Association and Together Gaming Solutions. The adjudicating panel is formed by Charles Camenzuli, Adele Muscat, Pierre Cassar, Kevin Joseph Azzopardi and Sandro Micallef. This award is aimed at sporting individuals or teams who would have distinguished themselves with an altruistic gesture of fair play during official and/or non-official competitions.

The fourth award for the year 2022, covering the October – December period, was awarded to Dillon Cassar. 

During a 10k race which consisted of 2 loops, unfortunately one of the marshals during the race was misplaced. This race was held on Sunday 16th October 2022.

In the first loop of the race, Dillon Cassar was with the leading biker, and he noticed that he had been wrongly guided, which resulted in him gaining an advantage of around 150 meters. He never did this with a bad intention, and during the said race, he drew the attention of the leading biker/marshal and was told he was right.

While doing the second loop of the race, to show that he had no intention of taking advantage of the mistake made by the marshal, he ran an extra 200 metres to make up for any previous advantage that might have occurred. Both the race organisers and leading biker were surprised by what Dillon Cassar did.

Notwithstanding this, he still won the race, clocking 30 minutes and 36 seconds.

The presentation of the TGS Malta Fair Play Award was hosted by Andrea Critien from the Finance & HR Department and Benjamin Delsinger, Managing Director of Together Gaming Solutions, at their offices in St. Julian’s. Charles Camenzuli was present on behalf of the Malta Fair Play Movement, while Stephen Azzopardi (MSJA Administrator) represented the Malta Sports Journalists Association.

Dillon Cassar jirċievi r-raba' TGS Malta Fair Play Award għas-sena 2022

Il-Malta Fair Play Movement ħabbar it-tmien TGS Fair Play Award, b’kolaborazzjoni mal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports u Together Gaming Solutions. Il-panel li jiġġudika dan il-premju huwa magħmul minn Charles Camenzuli, Adele Muscat, Pierre Cassar, Kevin Joseph Azzopardi and Sandro Micallef. Dan il-premju huwa intiż għal dawk fil-qasam tal-isport kemm fuq livell individwali jew bħala tim għal mod altruwistiku f’kompetizzjoni/ijiet uffiċjali jew le.

Ir-raba' unur għas-sena 2022, li jkopri l-perjodu bejn Ottubru u Diċembru ngħata lil Dillon Cassar. 

Waqt ġirja ta' 10 kilometri li kienet tikkonsisti f'żewġ dawriet, sfortunatament wieħed mill-marshals ma kienx qiegħed f'postu. Din il-ġirja saret nhar il-Ħadd 16 ta’ Ottubru 2022.

Fl-ewwel dawra tat-tellieqa, waqt li Dillon Cassar kien qiegħed fuq quddiem flimkien mal-leading biker, induna li kien qed jingħata direzzjoni ħażina u b'hekk kien qed igawdi vantaġġ ta' madwar 150 metru biex itemm id-dawra.

Ovvjament Cassar m'għamilx dan għax ried hu u għalhekk waqt din l-istess tellieqa, ġibed l-attenzjoni tal-leading biker u l-marshal u ngħata r-raġun.

Għaldaqstant, waqt li kien qed jagħmel it-tieni dawra, sabiex juri li ma kellu l-ebda intenzjoni li jieħu vantaġġ mill-iżball tal-marshal, minn jeddu ġera 200 metru iżjed biex jagħmel tajjeb għall-vantaġġ li seta' ħa fl-ewwel dawra. Kemm l-organizatturi tat-tellieqa u kif ukoll il-leading biker ma stennewx dak li għamel Dillon Cassar.

Minkejja dan kollu, Dillon Cassar xorta rebaħ it-tellieqa, f'ħin ta' 30 minuta u 36 sekonda.

“Ġest li għandu jkun imfaħħar. L-onestà timxi id f’id ma’ kull sport. Dawn il-valuri għandhom ikunu mrawwma f’kull atleta. Prosit tassew Dillon,” qal Edward Licari Direttur ta’ Together Gaming Solutions.

Il-preżentazzjoni tat-TGS Fair Play Award saret fl-uffiċini ta’ Together Gaming Solutions, fil-preżenza ta’ Andrea Critien mid-Dipartiment tal-Finanzi u r-Riżorsi Umani, u Benjamin Delsinger Direttur Maniġerjali ta’ Together Gaming Solutions. Charles Camenzuli kien preżenti f’isem il-Malta Fair Play Movement, filwaqt li għall-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports kien hemm l-Amministratur Stephen Azzopardi.
