66 Edizzjoni ta’ Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali
Is-Sibt 28 ta’ Frar 2026, fil-InterContinental Malta, saret is-serata finali tas-66 edizzjoni tal-Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali, organizzata mill-Malta Sports Journalists Association, fejn ġew iċċelebrati s-suċċessi miksuba mill-atleti Maltin tul is-sena 2025, kemm fuq livell individwali kif ukoll bħala tim.
Mistieden speċjali tas-serata kien il-leġġenda Olimpika Griega Pyros Dimas, li ta ġieħ lill-atleti Maltin bil-preżenza tiegħu.L-atleta tat-triatlon ultra Fabio Spiteri ngħata t-titlu tal-Isportiv tas-Sena, wara sena straordinarja mimlija suċċessi internazzjonali, inkluż podju fit-Tazza tad-Dinja u rekord nazzjonali fid-Deca Ultratriathlon.
Il-plejer tal-futbol Haley Bugeja rebħet it-titlu ta’ l-Isportiva tas-Sena, għat-tieni darba fil-karriera tagħha, wara staġun mill-aqwa ma’ Inter Women u prestazzjonijiet importanti mat-tim nazzjonali tan-nisa.
Iċ-champions Maltin Ħamrun Spartans ġew ivvutati bħala Team tas-Sena, wara kwalifikazzjoni storika fil-UEFA Conference League.Il-kowċ tagħhom it-Taljan Giacomo Modica ġie onorat bit-titlu ta’ Kowċ tas-Sena, bħala rikonoxximent għall-ħidma tiegħu fit-tmexxija tat-tim.

66th Edition of the National Sports Awards
On Saturday 28 February 2026, the 66th edition of the National Sports Awards was held at the InterContinental Malta, organised by the Malta Sports Journalists Association, celebrating the outstanding achievements of Maltese athletes during 2025, both on an individual and team level. The gala night was honoured by the presence of Greek Olympic legend Pyros Dimas as special guest. Ultra-triathlete Fabio Spiteri was named Sportsman of the Year following a remarkable season on the international ultra-endurance circuit. Footballer Haley Bugeja was crowned Sportswoman of the Year for the second time in her career after an excellent campaign with Inter Women, scoring crucial goals in domestic and European competitions, while also playing a key role with the Maltese women’s national team. Ħamrun Spartans were voted Team of the Year after their historic qualification in the UEFA Conference League, becoming the first Maltese club to qualify for the League Phase and register a victory at that stage. Italian coach Giacomo Modica was named Coach of the Year in recognition of his leadership and vision in guiding Ħamrun Spartans to unprecedented success. Other Honours Jacob Micallef – Young Sportsman of the Year Sophie St John – Young Sportswoman of the Year Ishmael Barbara – Official of the Year During the evening, three distinguished figures were inducted into the Hall of Fame: Alex Vella, Tony Costantino and Antonio Briguglio. The 66th edition of the National Sports Awards once again highlighted the strength, dedication and international progress of Maltese sport, serving as inspiration for future generations of athletes.
